Only recently the Indian Railways have started an express train service from Jogbani to New Delhi which runs successfully. Air Connectivity to Araria

The nearest commercial airport that connects Araria with the rest parts of the country through airways is Bagdogra Customs Airport in West Bengal’s Siliguri located at a distance of 128 km from this city. This airport operates flights for all Indian and some international destinations.

Only recently Purnia Airport has been opened nearby Araria. This airport operates chartered unscheduled flights for state capital Patna and nearby Kolkata, largest city cum capital of the neighboring state West Bengal. Spirit Air Private Limited and Door to Door Services Limited (DTDS) operate their non-scheduled flight services on Patna-Purnea and Purnea-Calcutta routes. The flights are twice a week to Kolkata and Patna.

Araria is connected by all nearby cities of Bihar. National Highway 57 connects it with the cities of Muzaffarpur and Purnea. Sub highways and other roads link the district with cities Darbhanga, Muria, Jhanjharpur, Narpatganj, Forbesganj, Kishnaganj, Thakurganj and Katihar cities. Efforts have been made in the recent past to connect the villages of this district through sub-roads. The district headquarters Araria city is directly connected to Bahadurganj and Kishanganj cities. Bihar State Road Corporation buses and private buses operate on routes connecting Araria. Both Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) buses as well as private buses operate on these routes. They have frequent service for the passengers to travel Araria or to go to different cities from the district headquarters. Araria city has its two bus stands out of which one is named Zero Mile from where buses for all major cities of the state operate including those for capital city of Patna. Bus Stand in Araria is meant for the local bus transportation.
